ENGLISH NARRATIVE
The Alchemy of Joy: A Story of "Happiness"
In a world that often moves too fast, we invite you to pause and look at what remains.
"Happiness" is not just an artwork; it is a transformation. It began as a collection of forgotten things—jagged fragments of scrap and cold sheets of industrial aluminum. By themselves, these pieces were silent, heavy, and overlooked. But through the hands of the artist, they have been given a second soul.
The Dance of the Hummingbirds
At the heart of this piece, two hummingbirds are caught in a moment of pure, shimmering intent. One is rendered in deep 3D relief, its wings appearing to vibrate against the air, while the other exists in a 2D shadow, a memory of flight against the wall. They are suspended in that breathless second of discovery, drawn toward a single, vibrant flower.
As they lean in to taste the nectar, they represent the very essence of life: the relentless pursuit of sweetness, even in the most unlikely places.
From Scrap to Spirit
We chose these materials for a reason. Scrap metal represents the "used up" parts of our lives—the mistakes, the leftovers, and the old stories. Aluminum represents the strength and brilliance we carry within. When combined, they show us that Happiness is not something you find perfectly made; it is something you build from what you have.
An Invitation to the Dreamers
We have placed this installation here, in this space of gathering and nourishment, to be more than just a visual treat.
To the guests: May this remind you that even the most metallic, cold days can be reshaped into something light enough to fly.
To the children: Look closely at the edges and the textures. Everything you see was once something else. It was a sheet, a bolt, a fragment.
Our hope is simple: That as you share a meal and look upon these birds, you feel a spark of "Why not?" Why not pick up a tool? Why not bend a wire? Why not take the "scrap" of a new idea and turn it into your own masterpiece?
"Happiness" is a reminder that creativity is the shortest, most beautiful bridge between a piece of metal and a beating heart.
